3 Years & Pointing
This week marks the third full year in business for us. Ending a long-time career and starting a new journey simultaneously with a Worldwide Pandemic has been nothing short of unexpected!
Small Business Owners, Solopreneurs should all take a bow periodically to remind themselves of how hard they have worked and that their journey continues to evolve. The anniversary of your open date or your start date is a good time to reflect, rejuvenate, and rejoice!
As we enter our third year, we are thankful for the many women who have supported us, celebrated us, and worked with us. We are proud of creating IWON, a peer advisory group of executive leaders and business owners. As our one member often says about her own organization, ‘small but mighty!’ We have created a lively exchange of monthly dialogue centered around the journey of professional women. None of our paths are the same but we cross one another’s in more ways than one!
Illuminate is thankful for the many construction sites we visited with our office suite partner. We met many interesting and fun clients along the way! We learned that water keeps many in the construction and preservation professions in business. We now call water ‘the beast’ and understand how destructive it can be to terracotta, slate, brick - just about any material. If you choose to own your own building for your organization, make sure you have a good preservation architect on call!
And, most of all, we have learned how unexpected, how challenging, how exhausting launching a business can be during a global, once in a lifetime, Pandemic. Magicians - truly that is what most small business owners and solopreneurs have to be nowadays. But there is hope and excitement among the Magic. For us, it is embodied in our Manuscript of our weekly Blogs. We are working towards a Book and are anxious to see where that path leads us.
Our Anniversary Celebration is a reflection of the past accomplishments and rocky paths that bring us to today. We are grateful for the support and confidence along the way from all the special professional women we have met. Thank you to all that we have called friend in this time. You have helped Illuminate our current path!
To many more years, to much more discovery, and to making our own point!
Thank you and Be well.
