No Need to Go It Alone

As the holidays are here, there really is no reason to go it alone on all the items you need to take care of with your business. A new year is coming, embrace it, and determine how best you can attain your goals.

I always enjoyed sitting down with my clients at the end of the year. We would discuss how the year went, why, and how to direct the oncoming year.

If you have an assigned contact at your Bank, reach out to them, discuss your past year and how you would like to move into the new year. Ask about cash management options to better manage your money, do you qualify for any free accounts that might be transaction based, volume based, or balance based? What new business products or services is the Bank planning for the new year? Will any benefit your business, small or large?

With the digital age and technology leading us into the new year, perhaps now more than ever, revisit your firm’s technology plan. There are still many small business loan and grant programs available, most at the state level, using Federal funds from The Cares Act. Check with your banker on if you qualify for any to replenish your computers, IPADs, or network needs. End of year is a great time to upgrade that equipment inventory. Your Banker should be able to assist in this area.

And, as you consider a new fiscal year, take stock of your employees. Often banks will have programs that are available to your employees. They may include free personal checking accounts, reduced rates on personal credit cards or auto loans. Make sure to inquire about employee benefit programs. It is a perk offered by the commercial bank division to encourage their corporate clients to bank personally with them and to entice the employees of their corporate clients to consider changing banks.

As the year ends, do not paddle out that wave on your own like our dog in today’s blog photo. Make sure you reach out, at a minimum to your Banker, and discuss the support your organization could use for them.

Be well.
