In today’s digital world, reviews can be very helpful or detrimental to any type of business. Has anyone reviewed your business recently? Have you reviewed a business recently?
Retail stores seem to be more often reviewed than other types of businesses. Whenever you consider a new restaurant or a hotel to stay in or a product to buy online, you may be like me and check for reviews before you hit the purchase button. I will not make a purchase if I see one of the reviews has very negative adjectives in it. I almost always seek out those products or places that have five (5) star reviews. And I will admit, I do not provide reviews on most things I purchase and I really need to start.
Professional services can benefit most from, not only positive reviews, but what we in the trade call Testimonials. A client agrees to be quoted with their positive statement on your business. Often, a photo of them and their title/role to the organization is also included. If they lead their organization, that level of endorsement for your business can be most helpful. They should not be related to you or a long time friend for their Testimonial to have the most impact.
If you are privileged to have a client willing to provide a Testimonial for you, make sure you include it on your Website, Facebook Page, LinkedIn, and any other social media platforms you may have. If you provide physical marketing handouts, include the Testimonial. It really can make a difference in how your business is perceived. Just remember to receive their approval for how you want to distribute it.
So. as you dialogue around your next Ad for your business, your next proposal or pitch, consider adding a Testimonial. Celebrate the opportunity to share a happy client with prospective clients. And if you prefer other online review platforms, ask your satisfied clients to take a small amount of time and write a positive review.
