Rotary Clubs and Renaissance Corp.’s

In the dog world, there are owners, breeders, handlers, and trainers, to name a few of those helping dogs achieve their best. In our business world, we have Rotaries and Renaissance Corp’s to help businesses grow their brand.

Recently, we drove to meet with a representative of a local Rotary and a local Renaissance Corp. We have addressed IDAs and Chambers in previous Blogs, so it’s time to address what a Rotary and Renaissance Corp might add to your firm’s community.

A Renaissance Corp. usually takes its name from the Renaissance Period where creativity, rebirth, and innovation occurred. You will often find these organizations in geographic areas that are trying to create more commerce in their locale. They might concentrate on urban cores or areas that have been declining where they are seeking to turn that trend around. They may be a separate not for profit funded by private foundations or they might have government funding and/or be a part of a local or state government. They come in a couple of forms but they are there to help your business navigate incentives and grants that might be available if your company is either located in their target zone or looking to do business in their focus area.

Rotaries, on the other hand, exist in most municipalities, not just those trying to jump start the local economy. They are part of Rotary International, a global service organization that aims to improve lives and communities through humanitarian service. Rotaries are usually organized as clubs attracting local groups of business people who wish to have a more positive impact on their communities. Your local rotary club may offer opportunities to perfect your public speaking and project management skills. They will often work on local issues to better their community. It is a great place to find those with similar core values.

As you consider how best to market your brand and yourself, research what rotary clubs may be in your area. And if you plan to enter new markets or relocate your business, look up Renaissance Corp.’s to see if there are any incentives in the form of grants for doing business in your selected markets.

Be well.
