Sending New Year Cards
‘This the season! Traditionally, businesses send out holiday cards around Christmas. A way to differentiate your firm is to send out New Year Cards.
We have one client who sends out Happy New Year cards to their clients and vendors and prospects. The cards always spotlight one of their projects for the past year. We look forward to receiving their card and seeing what they have been working on for the past year. But, most of all, we just really appreciate the card at a time when no other mail is arriving!
The Christmas holiday can be hectic, for businesses as well as individuals. Vacations, holiday parties, gift exchanges, all add activity and potential chaos to the month of December. Cards sent out can be lost in the chaos or just be added to all the others received. If you choose to time your cards different than most, your card and, by extension, your firm, may likely receive more attention than if it arrived in the hustle and bustle of December.
The other advantage to sending out a New Year card is that you essentially have the entire month of January to deliver a thoughtful and impactful message. Rushing to make the mail and have delivery occur prior to December 25th is no longer an obstacle. You can take your time, write a personal and thoughtful message, and hopefully deliver a memorable marketing piece.
Change up your holiday message to your company supporters and try sending out a Happy New Year card instead of a Christmas card. Make it a point to add a personal touch with a handwritten envelope or note of thanks inside and spread more cheer into the new year.
Be well.
